How partnerships are saving lives – The Adam Appeal and Lancashire FA

At Defib365, we’ve been vocal about our community champions and how we want more people to get involved with our cause to make defibrillators a common sight in the UK. So our goal is to create a world where defibrillators are readily available in all schools, work-places, and public spaces.

So, when the Adam Appeal, a Garstang defibrillator charity, recently announced a partnership with Lancashire FA, we couldn’t have been more excited. Together, they will work closely to make defibrillators more accessible to the public across Lancashire, something which will save lives.

The Adam Appeal

Cardiac problems can strike at any time – something we’re well aware of. So too are Adam Swanwick’s family. On his way to sample his wedding meal with fiancee Louise, Adam suffered an acute heart attack. He died that same day in hospital. He was 28.

It’s a hauntingly familiar story, and one that no doubt sent shockwaves through his family, least of all his fiancee. Louise and Adam’s sister-in-law, Pam, didn’t want anyone else to suffer, which led them to set up the Adam Appeal. Not only did they want to make defibrillators more accessible in local communities, but they wanted to raise awareness about undiagnosed heart conditions, which led to Adam’s passing.

Impact

Partnerships can be one of the best ways for businesses with a cause to get more power behind their message. It expands the number of people who hear about your cause with supporters helping to spread the word. It’s why the Adam Appeal’s partnership with Lancashire FA is worth celebrating.

In their two-year partnership, Lancashire FA will do their part to raise awareness about cardiac risk in young people. They will also help fund the distribution of much-needed defibrillators. To kick off their relationship, Lancashire FA, along with Hoole United FC, will give out 12 defibrillators to local, small football clubs.

What can we do?

Like The Adam Appeal and Lancashire FA, there’s always something you can do to help prevent the unnecessary loss of life caused by sudden cardiac arrest or heart attack. We all need to invest in the equipment and training necessary to resuscitate someone who is experiencing a cardiac problem.

While this might seem expensive, purchasing a defibrillator outright is not your only option. At Defib365, we provide defibrillators for offices, schools, and organisations for as little as £1 a month. We don’t see why saving a life should be a matter of mone, which is why we aim to provide the training and the equipment you need to stop SCA in its tracks for as little as possible.

If you want to become a part of the change, like Lancashire FA and the Adam Appeal, join us in our mission to make defibrillators compulsory by law in schools and workplaces. With your support, we can save lives. To get your own defibrillator, visit our website, or give us a call on 0333 050 6649.
